koobos ("we", "us") helps you clean up and organize your bookmarks. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It covers both the koobos web app (koobos.com, my.koobos.com, koobos.web.app) and the koobos browser extension.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
Account info. If you sign in, we receive your email address and a user ID from Google Sign-In.
Bookmarks you give us. When you run a sweep (upload a bookmarks export) or save a page with the extension, we receive the URL, title, and save date of those bookmarks. That's the data koobos exists to organize.
Usage counts. Aggregate, non-identifying counts (e.g., number of links checked) used to monitor cost and reliability.
Billing. If you subscribe, payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — only your plan status and a Stripe customer ID.
How we use it
To check which of your links are broken and rescue the good ones.
To summarize, tag, and file your bookmarks. Page titles and URLs are sent to Anthropic (Claude) to generate these summaries. They are not used to train models.
To show you your collections, your Mirror, and your Round Trip.
To operate your account and subscription.
Who processes it
We use a small set of service providers to run koobos: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, hosting), Anthropic (AI summaries and tags), and Stripe (payments). Each processes data only to provide their service.
The browser extension
The extension only sends a page's URL and title to koobos when you explicitly click Save. It does not track your browsing, read pages in the background, or collect history.
Your connection token is stored locally in the browser's extension storage and sent only to the koobos API to identify your account.
The new-tab page requests a short list of your own saved bookmarks to show your Round Trip.
Your choices
Archive or delete bookmarks anytime in the app.
Disconnect or remove the extension anytime; that stops all data sent from it.
Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
